Students of all majors who are interested in or who are participating in undergraduate research are invited and encouraged to attend the West Virginia University Association of Undergraduate Researchers first-ever meeting.

The meeting will be held on Wednesday (Nov. 20) from 5-6 p.m. in Oglebay Hall Room 110. Free pizza and drinks will be provided.

WVU AUR aims to foster multidisciplinary collaboration among WVU’s undergraduate researchers while teaching members important research skills and helping to facilitate and accommodate the needs of undergraduate students involved and interested in academic research.

The student organization is the brainchild of Adam Carte, a current Student Government Association governor and senior biochemistry major. He hopes to get more students involved in undergraduate research through WVU AUR.

“Participating in undergraduate research can open up a lot of opportunities for students in virtually every major,” Carte said. “Research is often thought of being confined to the STEM fields, but I am really hoping to see a diverse mix of students representing all branches of academia.”
