Two West Virginia University communication organizations are raising money to strike out ovarian cancer – a disease that affects thousands of women each year.

The Department of Communication Studies’ Undergraduate Communication Association and Lambda Pi Eta are hosting a bowling fundraiser to benefit Lisa’s Army, a nonprofit organization that helps spread awareness of ovarian cancer and comfort those who are battling the disease.

The event will be held in the Mountainlair bowling alley on Friday, Nov. 15 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tickets are $10 and include two bowling games with shoes and a coupon for two bowling games with shoes at a later date.

Tickets can be purchased on Thursday, Nov. 14 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at a booth inside of the Mountainlair Commons area. Tickets are also available for purchase at the door on the day of the event. All profits will be donated to Lisa’s Army.
