The West Virginia University Department of English and the Center for Women’s and Gender Studies will host a reading by Beverly Donofrio at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 17, in the Robinson Reading Room at the downtown campus library.

Donofrio is the author of three memoirs, including “Riding in Cars with Boys,” which has been translated into sixteen languages and made into a popular motion picture.

An award-winning radio documentarian and essayist, Donofrio’s works can be heard National Public Radio’s All Things Considered. Her personal essays have appeared in national newspapers and magazines, including The New York Times, The Washington Post, the Los Angeles Times, Allure magazine, Cosmopolitan magazine, New York magazine, the Village Voice, O: The Oprah Magazine, Marie Claire magazine, and Spirituality & Health magazine.

The reading is free and open to the public. A book signing and reception will follow.
