West Virginia University’s Office of the Provost has announced that the upcoming 2013 December Graduates Convocation will be moved to Friday, Dec. 20. The ceremony will take place at 3:30 p.m. inside the WVU Coliseum.

“As we implement WVU’s first Fall Break, Oct. 14-15, we remain sensitive to the needs of our students and their families, as well as those of our faculty,” said Elizabeth Dooley, associate provost for undergraduate academic affairs. “Significant academic demands on our students require the University to make adjustments to the calendar to maximize student success and engagement.

“Rescheduling the 2013 December Graduates Convocation for the Friday after finals allows students uninterrupted study, offers faculty increased planning time and gives family members the opportunity to better arrange travel to and from Morgantown for the ceremony.”
