The West Virginia University Fire Service Extension coordinator is available to offer commentary on extinguishing chemical fires and training for incidents such as the recent fertilizer explosion in West, Texas.

Mark Doty is the program coordinator of Fire Service Extension at WVU where he oversees the State Fire Training Academy at Jackson’s Mill. His agency trains the National Guard, works with the Center for National Response and trains thousands in West Virginia and beyond. Before coming to WVU, Doty became a fire lieutenant in Wetzel County, where his father and grandfather have also served.
