West Virginia University’s best dancers and brightest stars will be teamed up once again this year as part of the “Dancing With Our Mountaineer Stars” competition on Saturday (March 2).

The event, which will feature 14 new dance couples, will take place at 8:30 p.m. in the Mountainlair Ballrooms.

In conjunction with the competition, there will also be a blood drive, in which donors can donate in honor of a couple to help them receive extra points to earn the title.

The event is presented by WVUp All Night and the American Red Cross with sponsorship from the American Red Cross, Daniel’s Men’s Clothing, the WVU Hip-Hop Club and the Student Association of Public Administrators.

The couples vying for the title of best dancer’s at WVU are:

  • Brent Clark (director at WVU Extension Service) and Becca Fint-Clark (extension agent at WVU Extension Service)
  • James Johnson (Office Manager at the Office of Multicultural Programs) and Ariel Fink (graduate student in industrial relations)
  • Patrick Garcia (residential assistant at Braxton Tower) and Bethany LeMasters (sophomore interior design major)
  • Colleen Harshbarger (director of wellness and promotion at WELLWVU) and Hayden Marushi (junior multidisciplinary studies major)
  • Gretchen Hoover (senior special events coordinator at University Events) and Demiah Edwards (senior dance major)
  • Jonathan Kimble (Mountaineer Mascot) and Nicole Riggleman (assistant director at the Benjamin M. Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources)
  • Stacy Moniot (Anchor at WBOY-TV) and Jeff Fuss (junior secondary education and Chinese studies major)
  • Heidi Muller (residence hall coordinator at Lincoln Hall) and Ryan Butler (graduate student in secondary education and math)
  • Chris Northrup (director of the Mountaineer Maniacs) and Makayla Lewis (sophomore public relations major)
  • Steve Orlowski (WVU Homecoming King) and Mel Moraes (graduate student in Integrated Marketing Communications)
  • Adam Reaves (field representative at the American Red Cross) and Julie Paden (WVU Collegiate 4-H dance ambassador)
  • Zach Redding (president of Student Government Association) and Maggie Power (graduate student in social and behavioral science)
  • Danielle Vincent (WVU Homecoming Queen) and Cameron Williams (junior theatre major)
  • Paris Winfrey (WVU Mountaineer Idol) and Daryn Vucelik (junior public relations major)
