As part of Rock Your Colors, a promotion across the country created by the Collegiate Licensing Company, West Virginia University is asking its fans to wear their gold and blue to two upcoming basketball games.

Mountaineer fans have an opportunity to prove why WVU has some of the best fans in the country at Saturday’s women’s basketball game vs. Iowa State at 7 p.m. and Monday’s men’s basketball game vs. Kansas at 9 p.m.

At those two games, WVU will pass out a total of 1,500 “Rock Your Colors” foam fingers.

In addition, Monday’s men’s basketball game has been designated as a “Stripe the Coliseum” game. For more information on which colors to wear, visit: http://www.wvusports.com/stripecoliseum.cfm.

Fans are encouraged to wear their officially licensed WVU gear to the games, as well.

WVU is also participating in competing for the Naismith Awards Student Section of the Year.

You have until Feb. 6 to log on to http://facebook.com/ilovecollegehoops/ to vote for WVU. You don’t have to have a Facebook account and can vote each day.

The Mountaineers must be in the top 16 by Feb. 6 to have a chance to move onto the final round of voting. However, WVU is not in the top 25 at this point and has the third-most votes out of Big 12 Conference teams behind Kansas and Iowa State.

The winning school will receive $10,000 for its scholarship fund.
