Start spreading the news. The Mountaineers are headed to the New Era Pinstripe Bowl in New York City to take on the Syracuse Orange. The football team has been invited to the bowl, held at Yankee Stadium on Dec. 29th.

Alumni, fans and friends are invited to join the WVU Alumni Association and Mountaineer Athletic Club for a special travel opportunity to the Big Apple. WVU Sports Travel will offer two convenient travel options for those hoping to attend the bowl game.

The “Pinstripe ‘12-Millennium” package includes two night’s accommodations at the Millennium Broadway Times Square (Dec. 28 and 29, check out on Dec. 30) official WVU Pinstripe Bowl souvenir (one per room), and all taxes/gratuities. Alumni and fans are encouraged to take advantage of New York’s convenient rail system or other modes of transportation to/from Yankee Stadium. WVU Sports Travel will host a hospitality table in the hotel to provide advice about transportation arrangements. Additionally, the hotel concierge can assist in making those arrangements.

Alumni and fans can also take advantage of the “One Night Bus Holiday Inn” package. The tour will leave Morgantown, W.Va., via motorcoach at 8 a.m. on Dec. 28 and will return immediately following the game. The tour includes a night’s accommodation at the Holiday Inn Secaucus on Dec. 28, roundtrip motorcoach transportation from Morgantown to Secaucus, N.J., a box lunch/dinner, drinks, and snacks on the motorcoach to and from NY/NJ, game day motorcoach transportation from the hotel to the stadium, all taxes and gratuities, and official WVU Pinstripe Bowl Souvenir.

Both trips will be fully escorted by Premiere Global Sports and the West Virginia University Alumni Association staff. Game tickets are not included in the packages. WVU officially accepted an invitation to the New Era Pinstripe Bowl on Sunday, Dec. 2. The game will be televised on ESPN. Kickoff is set for 3:15 p.m.
