The Appalachian Children’s Chorus of Charleston, W.Va., will perform a concert at the West Virginia University Creative Arts Center, Sunday (Nov. 4). The event is free to all students, including K-12 and WVU students.

The concert starts at 3:15 p.m. in the Lyell B. Clay Concert Theatre at the Creative Arts Center. Tickets are $5 for non-students. For tickets and information, call 304-293-SHOW.

Directed by Selina Midkiff, the Appalachian Children’s Chorus was formed at the University of Charleston in 1990 and today has approximately 200 children in seven choirs.

Performing with the Concert Choir from Appalachian Children’s Chorus will be the Morgantown Children’s Choir and Chanticleer Children’s Chorus of Clarksburg.

The Appalachian Children’s Chorus has performed at Walt Disney World; Canterbury, Oxford and London in England; in Vienna and Salzburg, Austria; in Prague, The Czech Republic; and in Hawaii for the Pacific Rim Children’s Choral Festival.

The Chorus has performed in nine international cathedrals and the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C. It has also performed for governors and presidents and other heads of state, as well as three performances at Carnegie Hall in New York.
