Turk’s Head Knot will bring their special blend of chamber music and jazz to West Virginia University’s College of Creative Arts for a guest artist recital on Friday, March 16.

The recital starts at 8:15 p.m. in the Bloch Learning and Performance Hall of the Creative Arts Center.

The event is free and open to the public.

The program for the recital includes arrangements of jazz compositions by Wayne Shorter and Ralph Towner, a premiere of “Still Motion Rolling Cycle” by University of Illinois doctoral student Pin Hsin Lin and a premiere of Peter Paulsen’s “Songs of Late Summer,” a setting of poems by Stanley Kunitz and Anne Sexton.

Turk’s Head Knot is directed by bassist/composer Peter Paulsen. The band also includes percussionist Chris Hanning, saxophonist Chris Bacas, mezzo soprano Charlotte Paulsen and hornist Adam Unsworth.
