Three finalists have been selected in the search for the next assistant director of the Center for Black Culture & Research at West Virginia University, announced Director Marjorie Fuller.

All will visit the Morgantown campus and meet with WVU student leaders, the Black Faculty Association and other key members from the administration.

The finalists are: Curtis Proctor, student life skills instructor at Bethune-Cookman University; Maurice Gipson, executive director of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.; and James Jackson, adjunct faculty in the Office of Student Success at Owens Community College, Findlay Campus.

Proctor will be the first to visit campus on Wednesday. Gipson will visit on Feb. 15. Jackson will visit on Feb. 20.

The WVU community will have an opportunity to ask questions during an open forum period at the following times:

  • Proctor: Feb. 8 from 2-3 p.m. in the Mountaineer Room of the Mountainlair
  • Gipson: Feb. 15 from 2-3 p.m. in the Mountaineer Room of the Mountainlair
  • Jackson: Feb. 20 from 2-3 p.m. in the Mountaineer Room of the Mountainlair
