West Virginia University’s WELLWVU, the student’s center of health, is hosting its first “Freggie Day” on Wednesday (Jan. 25) from 11a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Mountainlair as a part of eatWELL month.

eatWELL is a part of the overall liveWELL campaign, which uses monthly thematic educational programs and social marketing campaigns to promote healthy behaviors. eatWELL aims to increase students’ fruit and vegetable consumption to at least five servings each day.

Students will have an opportunity to sample vegetable soup and fresh-cut fruit provided by WVU Dining Services. In addition, a variety of educational games and hands-on activities will be available for students to participate in. These games include “Nutrition Bingo,” “Freggie Match-up,” “What’s In Season?” and “Myth or Fact.” Students who successfully participate in these games will receive an eatWELL band.

There will also be an opportunity for students to register for tweatWELL, a unique point-based social network designed to get WVU students to eat at least five servings of freggies each day. The first 40 students who register for the program during “Freggie Day” will receive a free t-shirt. You can learn more about tweatWELL by visiting http://tweatWELL.com.
