In search of adventure in 1989 Poland, a young man discovers a female assassin, a Jewish skinhead, a mysterious bird and the loss of innocence. John Feffer plays seven characters in this one-man show, with an assist from the bird. Feffer will perform his play “The Bird” at West Virginia University at 7 p.m. on Feb. 1 in G9 of White Hall.

Named an Open Society Fellow for 2012-13, Feffer is co-director of Foreign Policy in Focus at the Institute for Policy Studies. The author of books on Islamophobia in the western world, U.S.-Korean relations, post-1989 Eastern Europe and Soviet foreign policy in the 1980s, Feffer is also a freelance journalist whose articles have appeared in The New York Times, the Washington Post, The Nation and Christian Science Monitor. In addition to “The Bird,” Feffer has written three other plays.

Sponsored by the WVU Atlantis Program, Feffer’s performance is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Professor Robert Blobaum at Robert.blobaum@mail.wvu.edu.
