West Virginia University is hoping to make your Orange Bowl experience a bit sweeter this year.

The University has created a one-stop shop for all bowl game information at http://bowlgame.wvu.edu/ where Mountaineer fans from across the world can log on and cheer on the WVU football team well before the Jan. 4, 2012 Discover Orange Bowl in Miami.

The website in an online, interactive community built around the excitement and anticipation of WVU’s third BCS bowl game in program history. The site features an opportunity to leave a message to the football team as it prepares for the game. In addition, there is ticket and travel information along with many other helpful links.

For example, make sure to check out WVU’s Heritage Project, our collection of stories detailing the history of the University, on the website. Tell us your story, as well.

Click on “WVU Marching Band Salute” and view the Mountaineer Marching Band’s halftime performance from earlier this season when it saluted the U.S. Armed Forces. The video has been watched by more than 1.4 million people across the world.

Add your photo to the Alumni Magazine’s official Mountaineer mosaic by clicking on “We Are the Mountaineer,” where you can post your own gold-and-blue clad photo.

The Mountaineers earned a BCS bowl bid after winning a share of the Big East Conference title last week. Clemson won the Atlantic Coast Conference championship game on Saturday (Dec. 3). WVU is undefeated in its previous two BCS bowl games (2006 Sugar Bowl and 2008 Fiesta Bowl). It will be Clemson’s first BCS game.

“It’s just really an exciting opportunity for the West Virginia University football program to be able to go to the Discover Orange Bowl for the first time,” said West Virginia head coach Dana Holgorsen.

Whether fans are going to the Orange Bowl in Florida or watching at home, they can gather at http://bowlgame.wvu.edu/ to get the latest information on the Mountaineers.

WVU’s bowl game website was developed by University Relations in cooperation with the Department of Athletics and the Alumni Association.
