The Zuccari family has strong ties to the Mountaineer community. Born and raised in Morgantown, W.Va., Alan Zuccari received his education at West Virginia University and after graduation moved to Northern Virginia where he started a successful business, married his wife, Lisa, and raised his three children:

Jason, a 2010 WVU graduate and former student government president, and current WVU students Jarred and Sara. Mr. Zuccari, was a former student government leader and continues his commitment to the University by serving on the WVU Foundation Board of Directors.

It is these deep ties that led Alan and Lisa to provide a generous gift to establish the Zuccari Alumni Wall at The Erickson Alumni Center where they hope future generations of Mountaineers will leave their mark at their alumni home.

“Lisa and I wanted to do something to give back to graduates of this great University and create a place where others can give back to WVU,” the Zuccaris said. “We are pleased to dedicate this wall in honor of all Mountaineers that have come before us and to leave a legacy in time that keeps the Mountaineer spirit forever in our hearts.”

Zuccari Alumni Wall is located at the entrance of The Erickson Alumni Center and includes the Seal of West Virginia University memorializing WVU alumnus Jim Samuel. Family and friends recently gathered at the Alumni Center to celebrate this new addition.

“Alan and Lisa embody the passion and commitment that is instilled in all Mountaineers,” said Stephen L. Douglas, president and CEO, WVU Alumni Association. “What a wonderful way to celebrate their family and our graduates. We are thankful for their generosity and vision in establishing this wall where Mountaineers can leave a permanent footprint at their alumni home.”

Mr. Zuccari is president and CEO of Hamilton Insurance, a nationally independent insurance brokerage company ranked in the top 50 nationally and top 10 regionally. Prior to his acquisition of Hamilton Insurance in 1982, he worked for the Royal Insurance Co. He has served on numerous committees for the American Health Care Association and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and has been a long-time advocate for the long-term healthcare industry.

Alan Zuccari received his bachelor’s degree in political science in 1973. He and Lisa live in McLean, Va.
