There is sure to be lots of laughter—and a few tears—as voice students present scenes from famous operas at the West Virginia University Creative Arts Center, Nov. 9-12.

Directed by Robert Thieme, who is head of WVU Opera Theatre, performances in the Antoinette Falbo Theatre begin at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday through Saturday, Nov. 9-11, and 3:15 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 12.

The students will perform scenes from: “Cenerentola” (Cinderella) by Gioachino Rossini; “Der Rosenkavalier” (The Knight of the Rose) by Richard Strauss; “Carmen” by Georges Bizet; “Street Scene” by Kurt Weill; “Don Giovanni” by Wolfgang Mozart; and “The Fiddler on the Roof” by Jerry Bock.

Students performing include Joshua Stubbs, Chris Toeller, Winston Sullivan, Julie Kremm, Natalie Shaffer, Cynthia Ortiz-Bartley, Callie Merz, Sharon Lankford, Sarah Nale, Sarah Plata, Nicoletta Ciampa, Aaron Scarberry, Sam Viggiano, Chelsea Carmella and Terri Parlett.
