Rehan Khan has announced his resignation as West Virginia University’s top technology officer.

Khan has been WVU’s associate provost and chief information officer since October 2009; he has accepted a position as vice president and chief information officer at Northeastern University in Boston.

Provost Michele Wheatly is seeking suggestions for an interim replacement.

“For WVU to continue to meet its land-grant mission as a top university in both research and service, it is imperative that we provide our researchers, faculty and staff with the best and latest technology infrastructure,” Wheatly said.

“Rehan has positioned us well on this road – helping WVU boost its core network capacity as well as putting in place several technology initiatives to enable the university to achieve its strategic mission. I am asking the staff in our Office of Information Technology for suggestions for interim leadership to keep us moving in that direction.”

Suggestions should be sent to Senior Associate Provost Russell K. Dean.
