MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Football season is less than four weeks away, and the University Chapter of the West Virginia University Alumni Association is bringing alumni, families and fans together for the seventh annual “Countdown to Kickoff.”

The kickoff will take place on Aug. 28 from 5-8 p.m. at The Erickson Alumni Center. The event will feature appearances by the WVU Pep Band, cheerleaders, Mountaineer Mascot Brock Burwell, and coaches, as well as food, drinks, raffles and games for children of all ages.

“The ‘Countdown to Kickoff’ has really become one of our signature events,” said Casey Quinlan, Chapter President. “We love seeing the families in their gold and blue enjoying an evening filled with football, great food, prizes and a beautiful atmosphere. We hope to see many people join us for this wonderful event.”

The event is open to the public and advanced registration is encouraged. Cost is $15 for advance registration ($20 at the door); children 5 and under are free; and students ages 6-17 are $10.
