West Virginia University will host EmployeeFest, a faculty and staff information and recognition fair, on Monday, May 9, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the WVU Mountainlair.

Organizers say the one-day celebration is an opportunity for the university’s employees to receive professional development training while taking part in other fun activities. It’s also a way to say thank you to all faculty and staff. The events are open to all WVU employees; a WVU ID is required to participate.

There will be information booths, professional development opportunities, wellness and fitness classes, cultural activities, games, prizes and more. A picnic-style lunch or dinner from WVU’s Dining Services will be served from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.; dinner is served from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m.

“It is through the hard work and dedication of our faculty and staff that WVU is successful in meeting its mission of research, teaching and service,” Narvel Weese, vice president for administration and finance, said. “And many of these individuals play a huge role in shaping the minds, personalities and futures of our students.

“Our inaugural EmployeeFest is one way of acknowledging your dedication, expertise and skill – and to say thank you for all that you do.”

The EmployeeFest website http://employeefest.wvu.edu/ contains complete information about the many activities.
During the event, participants can earn an array of WVU licensed merchandise from sweatshirts, hats and other wearables to lawn chairs, umbrellas and outdoor gear.
