The Laureate Wind Quintet, one of the premiere chamber ensembles in residence at West Virginia University, will present their spring recital at the Creative Arts Center at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday (March 1) in the Bloch Learning and Performance Hall (200A). The event is free and open to the public.

Faculty members performing include Francesca Arnone, flute; Cynthia Anderson, oboe; John Weigand, clarinet; Lynn Hilemann, bassoon; and Virginia Thompson, horn.

Joining them will be pianist James Miltenberger, also of the WVU music faculty.

Featured on the program will be appealing works not performed at West Virginia University before, including Texas composer Peter Lieuwen’s “Windjammer” (2009); Josef Rheinberger’s “Sextet” with Doc Miltenberger; and the “Quintet for Winds” by Hungarian composer Endre Szervansky.
