The West Virginia University Parents Club wants to make sure that parents get the opportunity to share every experience with their students – even study abroad.

For the first time, the Parents Club offering a study abroad trip for parents to take with their students.

The trip, planned by the club in conjunction with WVU’s Office of International Programs, is scheduled to take place during spring break, March 18-27.

Parents and students can spend the week learning about “Art and Architecture in Alsace,” located in Strasbourg, France.

“I have wanted to plan a trip like this for years for parents and students,” said Sabrina Cave, executive director of the Mountaineer Parents Club. “Last spring break I went on the Arabian Adventures Student Affairs spring break trip. I got to see students learning about new cultures for the first time. I watched them grow from the beginning of the week to the end, and I knew that would be something parents would also want to be part of.”

On the trip, parents and students will stay in an 18th-Century castle Chateau de Pourtales and spend the week exploring the Alsacian countryside.

Parents can decide to go with their student, or go alone. There are no foreign language requirements.
