Works by Mozart, Boismortier, Chabrier, and Downes will be on the program as the WVU Flute Choir presents its fall concert at the Creative Arts Center, Sunday, Oct. 3.

Under the direction of Francesca Arnone, the concert will be held at 5 p.m. in the Bloch Learning and Performance Hall (Room 200A). The event is free and open to the public.

The concert will feature two student conductors, Rebekah Doppelhauer and Rachel Ferguson, who have prepared the ensemble in works by Joseph Bodin Boismortier and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

Other selections include an arrangement of Emmanuel Chabrier’s “Espana” for flute orchestra and Andrew Downes’ monumental “Sonata for Eight Flutes,” performed by a chamber choir.

Dr. Arnone, a flute professor at WVU, says that she is very proud of her students and is looking forward to the performance. The Flute Choir is comprised of WVU flute majors who play various combinations of C flute, piccolo, alto flute and bass flute.
