Flutist Kimberlee Goodman of Otterbein University will present a recital and speech at the WVU College of Creative Arts, Tuesday, Sept. 7.

She will speak at 3 p.m. in Room 424 of the Creative Arts Center on “Navigating Your Career in Music” and will present a flute and guitar recital with Karl Wohlwend, also on the faculty of Otterbein University, at 6 p.m. in the Bloch Learning and Performance Hall (200A). Both events are free and open to the public.

Dr. Goodman and Wohlwend perform together in the EOS Duo.

Goodman has lived in Columbus, Ohio, for more than a decade and is an avid performer, educator and advocate for the arts. She has been on the faculty of Otterbein University since 2005. She also taught a course at Ohio State University entitled “Navigating a Career in Music.”

A devoted chamber musician, Goodman has been a member of the Stratosphere Flute Quartet which performed at the National Flute Association conventions in Albuquerque, N.M., in 2007 and in Kansas City, Mo., in 2008. She is a founding member of Otterbein Winds, a faculty woodwind quintet and ensemble at Otterbein University, and From the West_ a flute and harp duo_ with Charles Lynch, in addition to the EOS Duo with Wohlwend.

Goodman is also an experienced orchestral musician, and has performed with the Westerville Symphony, the Mansfield Symphony, the New Albany Symphony, the Southeastern Symphony and the International Festival Orchestra in Dublin, Ireland.

She holds flute performance degrees from Arizona State University and Ohio State University and has been published in Flute Talk magazine and is a frequent contributor as a reviewer for Flutist Quarterly Magazine.
