West Virginia University Safety and Health Extension Service will host its first “Alumni, Friends, and Fans” Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) training event during the weeks preceding and following WVU’s Homecoming weekend 2010 in Morgantown, W.Va.

The event will be centered around the four-day OSHA courses and will also include a welcome breakfast on the first course day of all sessions, a meet and greet cocktail party both weeks and many other unique prize opportunities and surprises for its participants.

Mark Fullen, the director of WVU’s Safety and Health Extension, said, “We are excited by the opportunity to offer our OSHA standards and trainer courses in the new Alumni Center. It is a beautiful facility and embodies the Mountaineer spirit.

“Our hope is that these types of related health and safety course offerings will become an annual event and a tradition. We look forward to our participants making this a success and seeing them for these Homecoming events”

During the first week, Tuesday, Oct. 19 thru Friday, Oct. 22, OSHA courses 510 and 511 will be offered. The second week, Monday, Oct. 25 thru Thursday, Oct. 28 will consist of OSHA courses 500 and 501.

Tuition is $650 a person each for one course, $600 each for two courses, or $600 a person per course if two or more employees of the same company attend. All participants registered by Wednesday, Sept. 1, will be entered in a drawing for WVU vs. Syracuse football tickets.
