Southern rock meets alternative country when the Drive-By Truckers bring their fall tour to the WVU Mountainlair Ballroom on Thursday, Oct. 7 at 9 p.m. Tickets go on sale Friday, July 30 at 10 a.m. at the Mountainlair Box Office, ticketmaster.com and by phone at 304-293-SHOW.

Known as arguably one of the best southern rock bands of the last decade, the Drive-By Truckers have been making music on their own terms since 1996. The Truckers’ tunes are noteworthy for its “three axe attack” – featuring three guitars, as well as bass and drums. With electrifying live shows and a jam-band mentality, the Truckers consistently leave audiences clamoring for more and are long-standing candidates for America’s best live act.

After recently undergoing a few line-up changes, the band has released The Big To Do this year to high critical acclaim. The album gave the band the attention of the mainstream rock world and charted higher than any of their previous efforts, topping Billboard’s Independent Records and landing at No. 22 on the Billboard Top 200. The band has appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman and Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and have recently joined legendary rock band Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers on a nationwide tour.

General admission tickets are on sale now and may be purchased at the Mountainlair Box Office, online at ticketmaster.com and by phone at 304-293-SHOW and 800-745-3000. Tickets may also be purchased at all Ticketmaster outlets, including Giant Eagle on Greenbag Road.

Tickets for the general public are $20 and tickets for WVU Students with a valid I.D. card are $10. WVU Students may purchase one discounted ticket per I.D. This offer is only available at the Mountainlair Box Office and by calling 304-293-SHOW.
