Country rocker Jason Aldean will bring his Wide Open tour to the WVU Coliseum on Friday, Aug. 27 at 7:30 p.m. Country newcomer Lee Brice will open the show. Tickets go on sale Friday, July 23 at 10 a.m. at the Mountainlair Box Office.

Multi-platinum country music star Jason Aldean has catapulted to the forefront of his industry over the last couple of years, smashing concert attendance records and releasing hit after hit. In the last 13 months alone, Aldean has spent more time at the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs than any other country artist, claiming nine weeks at the summit with three consecutive multi-week chart-toppers. His first three studio albums have sold more than 3.5 million copies and spawned 10 smash hits, including “She’s Country,” “Big Green Tractor,” “The Truth,” “Why” and “Hicktown.” At the 2010 CMT Awards, he was a three-time nominee, competing with the biggest names in country music for the top awards. Aldean’s latest single, “Crazy Town,” debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard charts.

Lee Brice may have just released his first studio album last month, but he is a respected songwriter within the country music world. While working hard on his major label debut, Love Like Crazy, he penned hit singles for Tim McGraw (“Still”), Garth Brooks (“More Than A Memory”) and Jason Aldean (“Not Every Man Lives”). In the last few years, he has charted four hits of his own, including “She Ain’t Right,” and “Happy Endings.” His latest single, “Love Like Crazy,” is climbing the charts and is currently at No. 10 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs.
