The WVU Alumni Association announced a new slate of officers during its annual meeting in May.

Nancy DiPaolo, Jack Rossi, Ray Byrd and William “Bill” Kennedy were chosen to serve as chair, vice chair, treasurer and secretary, respectively.

DiPaolo, of Spring, Texas, is a 1976 graduate of WVU. She was a member of the WVU cheerleading squad and served as president of Chi Omega Sorority.

A native of Logan, W.Va, DiPaolo and her husband, Jed, served as co-presidents of the WVU Alumni Association’s Lone Star Chapter. While in that position, she helped to build alumni membership, coordinate activities, encourage community service projects and recruit prospective high school students. DiPaolo also chairs the Texas Chapter of the WVU Parents Club and served on the screening committee for the new athletic director for the University.

Being a dedicated member of the Alumni Association has earned her numerous awards. In 2009, DiPaolo and her husband were honored as the “Most Loyal Alumni Mountaineers,” and, in 2004, DiPaolo received the WVU Alumni Association’s James R. McCartney Award in recognition of her dedication and commitment to WVU.

“We are thrilled to have Nancy serving as our chair for the coming year. Even though she and her family live hundreds of miles away, she and Jed have remained dedicated to the mission and goals of the Alumni Association and the University. I know her leadership, enthusiasm and energy will help us move forward with our goals,” said Steve Douglas, President and CEO.

Rossi, of Charleston, W.Va., will serve as vice chair. Rossi graduated from WVU in 1970 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in accounting, and is the presiding member of Arnett & Foster, PLLC, in Charleston. He is chairman of the board of directors of the Charleston Area Alliance and a member of the board of directors of Advantage Valley.

Byrd, of Wheeling, W.Va., will serve as treasurer. He is a member of the law firm Shrader, Byrd and Companion, PLLC, in Wheeling and has been associated with the firm for more than 38 years. Byrd received his bachelor’s degree from WVU in 1966 and his juris doctorate in 1970. He is a member of the West Virginia State Bar, American Bar Association, West Virginia Bar Association, Pennsylvania Bar Association and the Ohio County Bar.

Kennedy, of Bayhead, N.J., will serve as secretary. He graduated from WVU in 1964 with a bachelor’s degree in finance and began his successful career as a financial advisor for Eastman Dillon, Union Securities. He worked for 37 years on Wall Street before retiring in 2002. Along with his professional accomplishments, he also co-established the Dale Ramsburg Baseball Scholarship Fund at WVU.
