Have you ever watched “Glee” and thought: that could be me! Or, have you ever watched the WVU Marching Band perform during a football game and thought: I want to do that!

This summer, instead of just watching – you can make it happen!

If you are a music student in grades 7-12 in West Virginia, or anywhere in the region, studying band, voice, choir or piano, you are eligible to attend Mountaineer Music Camp at the WVU Creative Arts Center, June 27-July 2.

Instructors for the camp are outstanding WVU music faculty and students, including those that work with and direct the WVU Marching Band, “The Pride of West Virginia.”

Campers will participate in a variety of activities, including private lessons, ensembles and special concerts, as well as classes in areas such as singing, jazz, marching band leadership, world music and more.

A final concert will be held the last day of camp that will feature all participating students. The July 2nd concert is free and open to the public so that parents and other family members and friends may attend.

Mountaineer Music Camp is a must for anyone who is truly interested in making music, especially those wishing to pursue music as a career. It’s the experience of a lifetime!

For more information, including fees, an application form and scholarship information, please go to the camp’s link found on the WVU division of music webpage at http://www.wvu.edu/~music or call 304-293-4841 ext. 3196.
