The West Virginia University College of Business and Economics will honor 27 students graduating from the Executive Master of Business Administration program representing the Charleston, Morgantown and Parkersburg regions on Saturday, May 22. The hooding ceremony will be held in the Gold and Blue Ballrooms at the Mountainlair from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

“The EMBA is critical to our success as a business school,” said William Trumbull, interim dean, College of Business and Economics. “Our graduates are our ambassadors to the business community. They often go on to take on leadership roles within their companies or create their own opportunities.”

The EMBA program represents more than two years of study. Many of the participating students have traveled to Germany for a week-long study abroad program, participated in WVU’s Export Management class or visited the Washington Campus, a three-day seminar in Washington, D.C. that explores the interface of business and government.

“The EMBA program at WVU has not only given us a quality education but, more importantly, it has opened our minds to new ways of learning,” said Frank Vitale, senior vice president of Clear Mountain Bank, and a member of the EMBA graduating class. “For me, the EMBA experience has been about access, access to great resources and a valuable education that has given me a greater sense of expertise and confidence as a business leader. The return on investment for this degree requires a lifetime of measurement, as it has provided me and my cohorts with a foundation for personal growth, greater success and a sense of responsibility to make a positive difference in the world.”
