During West Virginia University’s Commencement weekend, held May 15-16, 172 international students from all over the world will be graduating.

On Thursday, May 13, WVU will recognize the students at a reception at the Erickson Alumni Center from 4-6 p.m.

“The Division of Student Affairs and the Office of International Students and Scholars are proud to once again have the honor of hosting a graduation celebration for WVU’s international students and their families, many of whom have traveled many thousands of miles to be with their loved ones on this special day,” said Michael Wilhelm, director of WVU’s Office of International Students and Scholars.

This year’s graduating class of international students will be conferred with various degrees, including engineering, foreign languages, statistics, health sciences and business.

“We are extremely proud of all these brilliant and courageous young men and women who have traveled miles away from home, made Morgantown their second home and have risen to such excellence. We wish them nothing but the best as they start a new chapter of their lives,” said Grace Atebe, assistant director of the Office of International Students and Scholars.

Parents, family members and friends of the graduates are invited to attend.
