Students at West Virginia University are finishing up their finals, packing their bags and getting ready to go home for the summer.

WVU residence halls will close at 5 p.m. Saturday, May 8. However, students should be prepared to leave no later than 24 hours after their last final exam.

Beginning on Wednesday, May 5, University Police will begin staffing the residence halls to direct traffic and parking.

Students can place their extra canned food and other items in lobby bins that will be taken to local food banks.

Students are asked to thoroughly clean their rooms before moving out. A list of cleaning guidelines is available at http://housing.wvu.edu/r/download/59291 . Students will be billed for any damage done to their rooms.

As students vacate their rooms, they will be asked to turn in their keys and provide a forwarding address at the residence hall’s front desk.

Dining Services will serve meals at Summit, Boreman and Evansdale Residential Complex dining halls through 2 p.m. Saturday.

The first day of summer semester is Monday, May 17.
