West Virginia University officials issued the following statement Friday following the Higher Education Policy Commission meeting:

“West Virginia University officials heard the concerns of a small community group, known as ‘Take Back Tech,’ at Friday’s (April 23) Higher Education Policy Commission meeting, and while we recognize that WVU Tech has some challenges, Provost Scott Hurst and many others are working hard to make changes so that Tech can be more successful. In addition, WVU will continue efforts to move this campus forward.
p(. A recent report to the Legislative Oversight Commission of Education Accountability identifying some of the positive progress being made at WVU Tech, including full integration of administrative systems related to registration, finances and human resources systems; major facility improvements; and ABET reaccreditation in five engineering programs—can be found here .”
