West Virginia University will show an episode from the Japanese TV show “Boys over Flowers” in observance of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month on Thursday, April 15.

The Brown Bag Lunch Film and Discussion Series will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Gluck Theatre in the Mountainlair.

Adapted from a famous Japanese manga series, also known as a Japanese comic book, “Hana Yori Dango” or “Boys over Flowers” tells the adventures of Makino Tsukushi. Tsukushi is a high school girl coming from a poor family who stands up against the four most handsome and popular guys of the school.

The film and discussion will be presented by Allyson Larimer, former officer of the WVU Japanese Club.

The event, sponsored by WVU’s Office of Student Life-Multicultural Programs, is free and open to the public. Pizza will be provided first-come, first-serve.
