West Virginia University’s Professional Recreation and Parks Society will hold its fourth Healthy Hounds Dog Fair from 12-4 p.m. Sunday, April 18, at Marilla Park in Morgantown.

Dogs of all sizes, their owners and other pet lovers in the area are invited to attend the event. Local veterinarians, groomers, dog trainers and other vendors will be on hand to provide information on helping dogs lead healthy lifestyles.

“As an organization, we do our best to promote recreational activities around Morgantown,” said Lorraine Carter-Lovejoy, PRPS secretary and wildlife and fisheries resources major. “This is a fun and unique event that brings together pet owners in the community and promotes healthy living for people and dogs.”

In addition to the informational fair, there will be contests and prizes for best dressed and best trick, as well as giveaways.

Participants are asked to make a donation of $5. Proceeds from the event will benefit the WVU PRPS. For more information, contact Carter-Lovejoy at lcarterl@mix.wvu.edu.

The PRPS is housed in the Recreation, Parks and Tourism Resources program in the Division of Forestry and Natural Resources of the WVU Davis College of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Design and promotes professional development and community service for students in the discipline.
