Jakob Dylan and Three Legs, featuring Neko Case and Kelly Hogan
Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Jakob Dylan may have a famous father, but he has certainly paved his own way in his musical endeavors. After long-running success as the founder and lead singer of The Wallflowers, Dylan released his first solo album Seeing Things in 2008. The album charted at No. 8 on Billboard’s Rock Albums and reached the Top 25 on both Billboard’s 200 and Digital Album charts. Dylan’s second solo album, Women and Country, in which he teamed up with acclaimed producer T. Bone Burnett, will be released in April. Fresh off his performance at South by Southwest, Dylan will embark on a nationwide tour with Neko Case and Kelly Hogan. Women and Country showcases Dylan’s strong voice and masterful songwriting, complemented by “the stirringly rich vocals of Neko Case and Kelly Hogan?. (creating) a powerful and melancholic experience for the listener.”

April Smith
With her quirky personality and musical flair, April Smith takes the stage with a dramatic presence and stunning vocal prowess. After appearing at Lollapolooza, Rolling Stone magazine featured her on its “Hype Monitor.” The Deli Magazine listed her as one of the 2009 Best of NYC and declared, “Smith and her band’s entertaining theatrical sass and stage class, stage a smoky, sexy cabaret show for the ear. Her jazzy vocals swoop up and down with such grace and emotion that it entices bystanders to pull up a chair and stay for a spell.” Recently, April Smith was named a 2010 Artist to Watch by the New York Post, who raved: “Adorable, quirky and the owner of a voice that could cure depression, April makes the world a better place.” Her album, Songs for a Sinking Ship, was funded by fan contributions. The record was released in February and features the single “Colors.”

The Tallest Man on Earth
Behind the Swedish sensation The Tallest Man on Earth is musician Kristian Matsson. Also the lead singer of the band Montezumas, folk singer Matsson began his solo career in the early 2000s. In 2008, The Tallest Man on Earth started turning heads after opening on several dates for indie star Bon Iver. That year also saw the release of his first solo album Shallow Grave. The record was well received and Pitchfork hailed Matsson as “a natural-born folk singer; earnest, clever, and comforting.” His second album, The Wild Hunt, will be released later this year, featuring the live concert favorite “King of Spain.” The Tallest Man on Earth will also play at the Sasquatch! Music Festival during its time in the States.

The Watson Twins
Twin sisters Chandra and Leigh Watson are the supreme voices behind the indie sensation The Watson Twins. After gaining attention in the Los Angeles music scene, they began working with Jenny Lewis, singer of the renowned band Rilo Kiley, on the collaborate album Rabbit Fur Coat. The record was a major indie success and helped put The Watson Twins on the map. In 2008, the duo released their first studio album, Fire Songs, which reached Billboard’s Top 50 Independent Albums and gained a remarkable four stars from Uncut magazine. Their latest record Talking to You, Talking to Me was released earlier this year. ELLE magazine proclaimed, “Their soulful harmonies are at the center of a sparkling pop sound that has a Memphis-meets-L.A. texture and hooks that work their charms on you instantly.”

Clare and the Reasons
Fronted by married couple Clare and Olivier Manchon, Brooklyn-based Clare and the Reasons is an indie band that has charmed critics everywhere, from Rolling Stone magazine to The New York Times. With a myriad of instruments, the band’s 2007 album, The Movie, was “comprised of the kind of quirky, jazzy, indie pop that welcome comparisons to artists like Lullaby Baxter and St. Vincent.” The album also featured contributions by the incomparable Sufjan Stevens and talented artist Van Dyke Parks. In 2009, Clare and the Reasons released their second record, Arrow. Spin magazine raved that “even by Brooklyn standards, Clare and the Reasons are inescapably, inconceivably cute? Honeyed without being saccharine, Arrow hints at St. Vincent’s bittersweet rhapsody, but settles for twice the tenderness.” Clare and the Reasons will begin an extensive European tour in 2010.
