West Virginia University will show the film “Tasuma, Le Feu,” translated in English to “Tasuma, The Fighter” in honor of Black History Month on Thursday, Feb. 25.

The film, part of WVU’s Brown Bag Lunch Film and Discussion Series, will be shown from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Gluck Theatre of the Mountainlair.

The humorous and touching film from Burkina Faso tells the story of a former Colonial soldier, nicknamed “Tasuma,” the fighter, in search of his retirement pension.

The film and discussion will be presented by WVU African Student Association President Jacob Boeyidwende Sandwidi.

Sponsored by WVU’s Office of Student Life-Multicultural Programs, the event is free and open to the public. Pizza will be provided first-come, first-serve.
