WELL WVU and the West Virginia University Student Recreation Center are teaching students about the importance of staying fit and healthy during National Collegiate Health and Wellness Week from March 1-5.

Several events related to physical fitness will be held at the Student Recreation Center throughout the week.

Students are invited to attend a health fair on Tuesday, March 2 at the Student Recreation Center from 4-6 pm.

Groups and University departments at the fair will provide free services, including screenings, body fat composition tests and hand and chair massages. Informational tables and interactive exhibits will also be set up by student organizations related to health and wellness.

A wellness summit hosted by WELL WVU and the Student Wellness Advisory Board will be held after the fair.

The Student Wellness Advisory Board is a student-led organization dedicated to improving the health and wellness of all WVU students.

The summit will provide an opportunity for related student organizations and students interested in health and wellness issues to learn about and provide input on campus-specific activities.

A healthy dinner will be provided for those who attend the session.

The summit will be held at 6:30 p.m. in the Blue & Gold Room of the Evansdale Residential Complex.

Students who would like to attend are asked to RSVP to erin.beck@mail.wvu.edu by Monday, Feb. 22.
