West Virginia University’s chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America’s National Bateman Team is working with the U.S. Census to get “Every Mountaineer Counted.”

The team will be hosting an educational booth in the Mountainlair Feb. 10-12 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Census folders with informational brochures, Valentine’s Day candy and carnation flowers will be given away.

The booth will allow WVU students, faculty and staff to share what they love in the midst of the Valentine’s Day spirit by writing on a paper hand what they love about Morgantown.

The collection of decorated hands will be displayed on a sheet and hung on campus.
The Every Mountaineer Counted campaign is focused on educating, motivating and encouraging the students of WVU and residents of Morgantown to participate in the once-a-decade U.S. Census that will begin in March.

The 10-question survey is a count of everyone residing in the United States, and will affect funding decisions for the WVU and Morgantown community.
