Tickets remain for the smash-hit Broadway musical The Drowsy Chaperone, which comes to the WVU Creative Arts Center this Wednesday, Jan. 13. The show begins at 7:30 p.m., as part of the University Arts Series. Tickets may be purchased at the Mountainlair Box Office, online at ticketmaster.com and by phone at 304-293-SHOW.

When a modern day musical theater addict plays his favorite cast album— a 1928 smash-hit called “The Drowsy Chaperone”— the show magically bursts to life. The audience is instantly immersed in the glamorous and hilarious tale of a celebrity bride and her uproarious wedding day. Filled with thrills and surprises, the show will take both the cast (literally) and the audience (metaphorically) soaring into the rafters.

The Drowsy Chaperone was a Broadway success, receiving more awards at the 2006 Tony Awards than any other show. With tons of laughs, the show speaks to anyone who has ever been transported by the theater.

Tickets range in price from $35 to $38, depending on seat location and may be purchased at the Mountainlair Box Office, online at ticketmaster.com and by phone at 304-293- SHOW or 800-745-3000. Tickets may also be purchased at all Ticketmaster outlets, including Giant Eagle on Greenbag Rd. WVU Students can purchase tickets for $25 with a valid Mountaineer card at the campus box office. One discount per I.D.

Mountainlair Box Office hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Friday, Jan. 8, and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, starting Jan. 11.
