Approximately 1,445 students received degrees from West Virginia University in December.

Graduates and their families were honored on Dec. 13 at a special Convocation ceremony at the WVU Coliseum. Keynote speaker, WVU Senior Associate Dean of Students Tom Sloane charged graduates to use their education “to make the world a better place.”

“We’re counting on you to provide opportunities for the next generation, greater than you had, to be more successful than you will be, to better their stead, to make the world a better place,” he said.
“As Mountaineers, I know you can do that. We’re counting on you. West Virginia University is counting on you,” Sloane said.
