Steven M. Frisch, Ph.D., of the WVU School of Medicine has been appointed to the editorial board of Cancer Research, the most frequently cited cancer research journal in the world. The journal is published twice a month by the American Association for Cancer Research.

Editorial board members review manuscripts for scientific content, clarity of presentation, and acceptability for publication.

Frisch, a professor in the Department of Biochemistry, earned his doctorate at the University of California, Berkeley and completed postdoctoral training at the Center for Cancer Research, MIT. He joined the WVU faculty in 2004. He is the leader of the Signaling Networks Program in WVU’s Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center, dedicated to understanding how cellular signals regulate cell growth, cell death, cellular migration and invasive capability, and how these signals go awry in cancer.

He is also on the editorial board of Molecular and Cellular Biology, another highly-ranked scientific journal.
