During International Fraud Awareness Week at West Virginia University, two experts on white-collar crime will speak about who commits these crimes, how they do it and how they are caught.

Sponsored by the WVU College of Business and Economics, the event will be held Tuesday, Nov. 10, at 3:30 pm in the Blue & Gold Room, Bennett Tower, on WVU’s Evansdale Campus. The talk is free and open to the public.

The speakers are Diann Cattani, a member of the forensic Investigative Accounting Group (IAG) in Atlanta, who is an expert in the psychology of the “fraudster” and Franco Frand, chief of the Financial Investigative Services Division and acting deputy assistant director for the Office of Science and Technology for the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives in Washington, D.C.

At IAG, Cattani specializes in the prevention, deterrence and investigation of fraud. Using her background in psychology and professional experiences, she travels the country offering insight into why good people make bad choices.
