Applying to law school can be a complex and challenging proposition. Just what law schools are looking for in an application is the illusive question prospective students are asking themselves.

In order to assist in that decision making process, Assistant Dean of Admissions and Student Affairs Janet Armistead is hosting a talk about “How to Apply to Law School” on Tue., Oct. 20 from 6-7:30 p.m in Room 154 at the WVU Law Center.

Attendees can expect to learn inside information on what law schools are really looking for from a real expert who has been engaged in the process of evaluating thousands of law school applications.

“This is more than just an overview of the law school application process and it is not limited to just those considering the WVU College of Law in pursuit of their legal education,” said Assistant Dean Janet Armistead. “It’s important to educate yourself as thoroughly as possible about the process and allow yourself plenty of time to plan a thoughtful and well prepared approach to the application process.”

Advice will be given on the LSAT examination; what different law schools are looking for and the different methods they use to evaluate applications; and what resources are available to help during the application process. The talk is open to all who are contemplating or who are in the process of applying to law school.
