Exceptional students in West Virginia Universitys Community Music Program will present a special honors recital Sunday, April 13.

The event begins at 1 p.m. in Bloch Learning and Performance Hall (200A) at the Creative Arts Center on WVU s Evansdale Campus. It is free and open to the public. A reception will follow.

Students performing are considered the most talented in the program and auditioned for selection by faculty in WVU s Division of Music. The purpose is to recognize those students who have made outstanding progress in their areas of study.

Students participating are Duncan Crooks, Vuong Nguyen, Emily Ngan and Jason Snyder, who are all violin students of Mary Wilson; Oliver Lin, Jennifer van der Sloot, Emily Yang, Raymon Yao and Jennifer Yu, piano students of Catherine Crotty; Jarrett Hoffman, a clarinet student of Jeanne Frieben; and Katie Zucker, a harp student of Christine Mazza.

The event will include a presentation of achievement awards to students who have been chosen by their teachers for special recognition of dedication, consistent hard work and improvement in musical studies.
