Two finalists have been selected in the search for the next dean of the College of Human Resources and Education at West Virginia University, announced Russell K. Dean, senior associate provost and chair of the search committee.

Both will visit the Morgantown campus and meet with WVU faculty, staff and students; major administrators; and key constituent groups.

The finalists are Tracy Cross, associate dean for graduate studies, research and assessment at the Teachers College at Ball State University, and Dee Hopkins, dean of the College of Education at Texas A&M University, Corpus Christi.

Im pleased with the breadth of experience and knowledge each candidate has to offer,said Dean, noting that each candidate has considerable experience leading and transforming educational organizations.

He also praised the search committee for its commitment and diligence in reviewing applications and conducting reference checks and interviews.

Committee members were very committed to this process, and Im proud of their work,Dean said.

Cross will visit the WVU campus Thursday and Friday, March 13-14; Hopkins will visit Monday and Tuesday, March 17-18.
