The halfway point of the college semester provides instructors and students with an opportunity to review academic performance and make adjustments in study habits and class schedules.

To further support students during this critical period, West Virginia University is providing the Mid-Semester Help Center Monday, March 10, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. in the Mountainlair commons and from 4-7 p.m. in the Student Recreation Centers free zone.

Students seeking advice and information are encouraged to stop by the center to ask questions, access key information, learn about support services, add or drop classes and schedule follow-up appointments.

Representatives from several campus services will be on hand to work with students including the Office of Financial Aid and Undergraduate Scholarships, Undergraduate Academic Services Center, Student Support Services, Admissions and Records, Carruth Center for Counseling and Psychological Services, Disability Services, Student Health Service, Center for Civic Engagement, Extended Learning (summer school options) and First-Year Experience (tutoring).

The help center is timed to correspond with the start of eight-week, midsemester classes and falls before the full distribution of financial aid. The date also provides students time to assess their midsemester status and make informed decisions before the last day to drop a classFriday, March 21.
