Media Advisory: Area law enforcement officers to honor fallen comrades

* WHO :* Law enforcement officers with the Morgantown Police Department, Monongalia County Sheriffs Department, West Virginia State Police, Westover Police Department, Star City Police Department and West Virginia University Department of Public Safety

* WHAT :* Placement of a wreath in honor of law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty

* WHEN :* Monday, May 16, 10 a.m.

* WHERE :* In front of the statue outside the Morgantown Public Safety Building on Spruce Street

* DETAILS :* This ceremony is in connection with National Peace OfficersMemorial Day (May 15) and National Police Week (Nov. 15-21) to remember police officers who have died over the past year and to honor all officers who put their lives on the line each day. Last year, 154 police officers throughout the country died in the line of duty.
