West Virginia University music professor and organist William Haller will perform a Mothers Day recital Sunday, May 8, at 4 p.m. at St. Marys Roman Catholic Church in Star City.

Dr. Haller and violinist Patricia van der Sloot will perform Gabriel Faures second violin sonata. Faure was a highly visible performer, composer and researcher in 19 th century France. He is remembered primarily for his Requiem for choir, soloists and orchestra.

Haller will also play two preludes and fugues by French composers Saint-Saens and Marcel Dupre.

The recital is free and open to the public. St. Marys Roman Catholic Church is located at 3344 University Ave. in Star City.
