West Virginia University’s National Environmental Training Center for Small Communities (NETCSC) will host officials from small, rural cities across the country for a four-day institute this summer.

“Protecting Public Health: Water and Wastewater Solutions for a New Era”will be held July 29-Aug. 1 at the Mountainlair.

Participants will receive training about security for drinking water systems, emergency response planning, onsite alternative wastewater treatment technology, and related sessions that can help assistance providers, local officials and others involved with small communities to do their jobs better.

A limited number of fee waivers are available for local officials working in communities with fewer than 10,000 residents. Early bird discounts are available until June 30.
