The West Virginia Business Hall of Fame is seeking nominations for the hall’s 2003 class.

Sponsored by West Virginia University’s College of Business and Economics, the Business Hall of Fame was established in 2001 to acknowledge the achievements and contributions of outstanding business leaders and entrepreneurs with some connection to West Virginia. Past inductees have included Gov. Gaston Caperton, Richard Adams and Charles Ryan (to see all inductees, visit the Hall of Fame Web site at /www.be.wvu.edu/fame ).

“Every time I think about the contributions made by those we have inducted, I am awed,”said Maria M. Yester, director of the Hall of Fame.”And I know there are others out there deserving of recognition. This year we are especially hoping to find the names of distinguished women and minority business leaders among the nominations.”

Those inducted into the West Virginia Business Hall of Fame must have established a record of distinction in their field and industry in the categories of national/international businesses, state-based enterprises, or entrepreneurial and family businesses. Candidates must also have connections to West Virginia, either by birth, residence, education or business presence.

Although nominations are accepted throughout the year and remain active for three years, the deadline for 2003 is June 14. For more information, visit /www.be.wvu.edu/fame or call Maria M. Yester at 293-7963.

The induction ceremony will be Oct. 2 at the WVU College of Business and Economics. The event is open to the public.
